Oh where does the time go?

This week our jogging stroller, a wonderful gift from the Redds, arrived.

It’s great. It rolls perfectly smoothly, it’s been up the mountain already, it protects the baby — and best of all, also his parents’ backs. It’s not easy carrying around a bebe with the body of a retired boxer all the time.

We took the stroller out for its first spin and felt positively… parental.

This week was also Dad’s 36th birthday. I guess we all have to be square once in a while. Oko had been planning to bake a cake but canceled at the last minute, saying he was too tired.

So mom had to run out and buy one, but it was Easter Sunday so the only thing she could find was a mocha-chocolate confection with a bird’s nest on top and a little edible plaque that said ‘Joyeuses Pâques’.

He said he liked it anyway.

We shared it with Philippa and Chris Vikander, who had kindly invited us to a delicious Easter/Birthday dinner at their place. That was Sunday. Oko shared the following sentiments with his father on Monday:

More next week!
